Here at Nelson Drafting & Design you’re in good hands.  We offer flexible design options while preparing plans for your new home or alteration. We take your ideas and turn them into a finely tuned, buildable set of drawings.

 

Services we offer are:

• Free initial consultation – Together we go over your ideas and develop a design brief and clarify design and drafting costs.

• Site analysis and project feasibility assessment – This involves us visiting the project site, checking the council file and retrieving relevant information that may affect the design.

​

• Concept plans - After the site analysis we work through your brief to prepare a plan to suit your section and budget. On completion of the concept design you will have a detailed floor plan showing room sizes, elevation drawings showing side views of the house positioned on the site and a site plan showing how the proposed plan will sit on your section.

• Design Development Stage – You may choose to modify or explore some other ideas with the concept before progressing to the more detailed contract drawings.

• Contract Drawings – We take the concept plan and add sufficient detail so you can take them to your builder or quantity surveyor and confirm a build price.

​

• Working Drawings - Once your new home has been priced by your chosen builder or quantity surveyor we progress the drawings further to full construction and ‘building consent ready’ documentation.
